Best subscription tracker apps in 2026

Subscription trackers come in two kinds. Automatic ones read your bank and card transactions and find every subscription for you, including the ones you forgot. Manual ones keep a tidy list of the subscriptions you type in, with no bank login. Pick the kind first; the app comes second.

Disclosure: Cove is our product. Everything below about other apps comes from their own websites and app listings, and we say where they do something Cove doesn't.

Automatic or manual: which kind you need

    • Choose automatic if you suspect you're paying for things you've forgotten: a free trial that turned paid, a yearly renewal, the same service on two cards. A manual tracker can only list what you remember to add.
    • Choose manual if you'd rather not link a bank account, have a handful of subscriptions you already know about, and mainly want a reminder before each one renews.

    Automatic subscription trackers

These connect to your accounts through a service such as Plaid and pick out the charges that repeat. The difference between them is what happens next.

Cove and Rocket Money are the two here that can cancel a subscription for you; Cove also splits shared bills and has an AI assistant you can ask about your money. See how Cove's subscription tracker works or the Cove vs Rocket Money side-by-side.

    Manual subscription trackers

These never touch your bank. You add each subscription, and in return you get a clean list and a reminder before each renewal, something Cove doesn't send for subscriptions yet.

    How to choose

    • You want to find what you're missing: an automatic tracker. Cove's free plan covers one linked bank or card provider.
    • You want it cancelled for you: Cove (in beta, with Premium) or Rocket Money.
    • You want a renewal reminder and no bank link: Bobby on iPhone, ReSubs on iPhone or Android, or TrackMySubs in a browser.
    • You also track bills, not just subscriptions: see our guide to the best bill tracking apps.

    Common questions

What is the best subscription tracker app?

It depends on what you want it to do. To find subscriptions you've forgotten about, use one that reads your bank and card transactions, such as Cove or Rocket Money. If you'd rather not link a bank account and know every subscription you have, a manual tracker such as Bobby, ReSubs or TrackMySubs is simpler.

Is there a free subscription tracker?

Yes. Cove's free plan finds subscriptions on one linked bank or card provider, and Rocket Money also has a free plan. Among manual trackers, Bobby is free with limits and TrackMySubs is free for up to 10 subscriptions.

Does a subscription tracker need my bank login?

Automatic trackers connect to your bank through a service such as Plaid. Cove's connection is read-only and Cove never sees your bank password. Manual trackers don't connect to a bank at all; you enter each subscription yourself.

Can a subscription tracker cancel subscriptions for me?

Cove (in beta, with Premium) and Rocket Money can cancel some subscriptions for you. Monarch Money and Copilot Money show recurring charges but leave cancelling to you, and the manual trackers here remind you or give instructions rather than cancelling.

Will a subscription tracker remind me before a renewal?

Manual trackers such as Bobby, ReSubs and TrackMySubs remind you before the renewal dates you enter. Cove shows upcoming charges on a calendar but doesn't send subscription renewal reminders yet; its reminders cover credit card and loan payments.
